A 5 inch tankard (4¼ inch diameter), c.1770, with the arms of Dent of Dent, near Newcastle. Possibly for Lawrence Dent of Yarm in Yorkshire, a wealthy merchant whose grandson was later of Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire.
